Explosive Blast Shrapnel Resistant Barriers
Massive Modular Blast Barriers (MMBs)

Kontek's Massive Modular Blast Barriers (MMBs) are designed to deliver a massive, virtually indestructible, physical security barrier capability. The MMBs were designed to resist bulk high explosive and linear threat weapons. The interlocking massive concrete blocks can be stacked in the field for enhanced security. The modular aspect allows for various barrier height and width and permits relocation as required. MMBs can be stored, shipped and deployed when and where needed.

To date, Kontek has provided over 1,500 modular blast barriers to USAF Force Protection to protect critical assets.

Design Characteristics:

  • Sizes = The modular aspect allows for various barrier height and width and permits relocation as required.
  • high strength steel reinforced concrete
  • Designed to deliver a massive, virtually indestructible, physical security barrier capability
  • Designed to resist bulk high explosive and linear threat weapons.

Features:

  • Barriers have internal barrier to barrier connection.
  • All Kontek barriers are stand-alone. No foundation required.
  • No construction required.
  • Rapid deployment.
  • Optional cast in chase slot on back to run conduit for electric, video cables, alarm wire, etc.
  • Barrier design allows for mounting poles on barriers for cameras, lights, etc.
  • Kontek works with the University of Missouri-Columbia and Rolla's Rock Mechanics and Explosive Design Center. The University of Missouri, which is a leading researcher in the field, has had extensive Department Of Defense blast design experience and collaborates with the Army Corps of Engineers Explosive Research and Design Center (ERDC).
