Contracts Will Bring Fifty New Jobs to Southeast Missouri

New Madrid, Mo., July 12, 2006 Kontek Industries, a national leader in research and development of ballistics protection materials and products, announced today that it has been awarded a delivery order amount of $5.2 million as part of a $15 million contract from the Department of Defense for the construction of storage munitions igloos. The “igloos” will be used as weapons storage facilities for the Air Force's Whiteman Air Force Base.

“We are looking forward to beginning construction on this important military installation,” said Don Utz, president of Kontek. “We are especially proud to continue our relationship with Whiteman Air Force Base, and to continue to demonstrate our unique capabilities with the Department of Defense.”

This delivery order is part of a $15.0 million contract that was awarded to Kontek Industries in 2005 after Kontek successfully designed and constructed the “Igloo” weapons storage facilities and additional force protection products.

The construction will be performed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri and is expected to be completed by September 23, 2009.
